The Soul of Ireland Lives On
No peace do I lose
For the beating heart of Ireland lives on
A band of men and women strong
Whose blood runs red with Irish song
For the soul of Ireland lives on
No lack of sleep nor restless night
On account of Ireland’s beauteous fight
Her soul lives on and on
In millions of her children’s children
And on into their children’s children
The soul of Ireland lives on
Formed beneath the Celtic cross
With knots that tell of all her strife
The soul of Ireland lives on
For the soul of Ireland is not confined
To the shores from whence it came
It has gone out to all the world
And now often goes by different names
But the soul of Ireland is alive and well
In the hearts of them that love her still
Her emerald coasts and her shepherds’ boasts
Who turn round the world and yell
My mother’s fathers fought and died
That the soul and heart be free
For Ireland was made for praising
The Holy Trinity
Glóir don Athair,
agus don Mhac,
agus don Spiorad Naomh.
Mar a bhí ó thús,
mar atá anois agus
mar a bheas go brách,
le saol na saol.
Amen.
